Donovan W. Christie, MD, MS, CPE
President and Medical Director
Preventative Medicine, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics
Dr. Christie is board certified in Internal Medicine, Preventive Medicine and Pediatrics. Dr. Christie is a graduate of Fordham University in New York and Albert Einstein School of Medicine. He completed a combined residency program in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the Columbia University in New York City. He has a Masters Degree in Preventive/Administrative Medicine from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He is President of the Picture of Health Foundation.
Dr. Christie founded Anwan Wellness in 1998, when he had a change in attitude towards his health and that of his mother. Anwan Wellness Medical Centers emphasize lifestyle changes as the primary way to treat and prevent disease. Every patient should be taught that good health depends on the triad of good nutrition, adequate exercise and relaxation in a spiritual sense.
Jacqueline D. Christie, MSN, FNP-C
Jacqueline D. Christie graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with a BSN in Nursing. After Graduation, Jacqueline worked as a Registered Nurse in the areas of Medicine, Surgery, Postpartum, Nursery & Labor & Delivery. She later received training as a Nurse-Midwife at the Frontier School of Nursing & Midwifery. Jacqueline completed her Masters Degree in Nursing in 2004 at Kennesaw State University. Her areas of interest include Preventive Medicine, Pediatrics and Womens Health.
Jacqueline is originally from the island of Jamaica, but was raised in New York. She is married to Dr. Donovan Christie and they are blessed with five beautiful children. Jacqueline enjoys spending time with family, staying spiritually and physically fit, world travel, short term missions and other church activities.
Gina Gonzalez Johnson, DO
Dr. Gina Gonzalez Johnson was born in St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands. Dr. Gonzalez Johnson’s parents are both Puerto Rican, and she has deep ties to her Latin heritage. At a very young age, Dr. Gonzalez Johnson learned the importance of having a healthy lifestyle—she was a dancer and a track and field athlete representing St. Croix in many international meets. She continued her athletic career in college where she became an All American hurdler and long jumper. She graduated from Widener University in 1995 and decided to attend an Osteopathic medical school because of the holistic philosophy that is taught. In 1999, she received her family medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-School of Osteopathic Medicine. She moved to Atlanta in 2002 and has been practicing family medicine for over 7 years. She is married with 3 children. She happily joined the ANWAN wellness team to cultivate her passion for preventive medicine.
Dr. Gonzalez Johnson practices medicine with a holistic approach. She is passionate about fighting childhood obesity and encouraging proper nutrition and fitness. She shares her knowledge in fitness to improve her patient’s lives by partnering with them to assist in achieving their goals.
Tracey Marshall, APRN, FNP-C
Tracey Marshall was born in Atlanta Georgia. She attended Westlake High School. She obtained her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing from Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, AL in 2001 . She has been working in Neurosurgical ICU at Emory University Hospital Midtown as a registered nurse since 2001. She obtained her Masters of Science Degree in Nursing in 2004 from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She has been practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2006. Her areas of interest include teen health, hypertension, and, diabetes, and cholesterol management. She loves to travel, dance, and spend time with her family. She has three pets. She feels blessed to provide guidance to each and every one of her patients.
Edward Layne, MD
Vice President
Dr. Layne is a graduate of Harvard College and Tulane Medical School. He completed post graduate training in Internal Medicine at Harvard Medical School and in Gastroenterology at the Washington Hospital Medical Center and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Layne was the first black specialist in Gastroenterology to settle in the Atlanta area. For the past 25 years, his practice in Atlanta has focused on Digestive Diseases, Colon cancer screening and the role of Nutrition in Cancer prevention. He has been a long-time proponent of “Preventive” Medicine and is excited to be working with Dr. Christie and the Anwan Wellness Medical Centers
As a Gastroenterologist, Dr. Layne has performed more than 25,000 endoscopic surgical procedures without complications.

Ron Gale, DC, CCSP
Physical Medicine
Dr. Ron Galy is a Chiropractic Physician and has been in practice since 1984. He had a thriving practice in Westport, CT (a suburb of New York City) for 21 years before relocating to Atlanta in 2005.
Dr. Galy owned and operated an integrative practice involving Medical Doctors, Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, Physical Therapists, Nutritionists and Massage Therapists. His specialties include: Sports Medicine, Wellness and Preventative Care, Fitness, Nutrition, Chronic Pain as well as the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal disorders of the spine (back and neck) and extremities (knees, hips, shoulders, ankles, etc). In addition, Dr. Galy is board certified as a Sports Physician and in Functional Rehabilitative Medicine.
Dr. Galy obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology from the U. of Massachusetts. He then went on to enroll in a PhD program in Exercise Physiology at New York University. Prior to his dissertation, he matriculated into Palmer College of Chiropractic and received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. During his professional career Dr.Galy has treated hundreds of professional and amateur athletes, many celebrities, has been a contributing author to numerous text books, has published several dozen articles and has lectured other doctors in post-graduate studies.
He has been part of ANWAN Wellness and Medical Center since 2007.
Michael Cantrell, DPM
Dr. Cantrell graduated from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 2000. He completed a podiatric orthopedic residency with the VA Medical Center of East Orange, NJ, a podiatric medical residency with Cornell affiliated Wyckoff Heights Medical Center of Brooklyn, NY, and surgical training with the Kings County Medical Center of Brooklyn, and the NYU Downtown Hospital of Manhattan.
Dr. Cantrell is originally from the Atlanta area. He completed a Bachelor of Science from Georgia State University. His hobbies and interest include music, preservation and enjoyment of nature, and running. He has participated in various road races and is presently training for his first marathon.
Susan Pelchat
Practice Administrator
Susan Pelchat is the Practice Administrator of ANWAN Wellness Medical Center, P.C. with over 10 years experience as a CEO, CFO, Practice Administrator, Office Manager, and Billing Manager. Susan also has over 25 years experience in Accounting and Financial services. She attended Griffin Technical College majoring in Accounting and Business Management, maintaining a 4.0 GPA and was on the Dean’s List. She is an innovative thinker with broad - based expertise in Practice Management, Accounting & Medical Billing. She has a proven ability to quickly analyze key business drivers and develop strategies to make the practice successful. Three years ago Susan was honored by being accepted into Empire Who’s Who.
